Coughlin Hall, a $1.5 million, three-level structure, replaced Grandmora Hall as the home for the offices of Marquette’s English, History, Philosophy, and Theology faculties. The building has also served as headquarters for the Marquette Honors Program.
Named For
The building is named for Charles L. Coughlin (1885-1972), president of Briggs and Stratton Corporation. Coughlin served as a member of Marquette’s Board of Governors from 1944-1964 and received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from the university in 1952.
