. He
told
the
class
that the
old
tribal
way
of
life
is
gone
forever
and that there
is
very
little
future
for the
majority
of
Indians
on the
reservation
.
“Your
education
will
bring
you
opportunities
elsewhere,”
the
chief
said
. He
is
a
grandson
of the
famous
Chief
Red
Cloud
who
invited
the
“Black
Robes”
to
come
and
teach
his
people
in
1868
. They
came
and
found
the
mission
in
1888
.
It
now
has an
enrollment
of
more
than
500
. The
“Black
Robe”
in the
picture
is
Rev
.
Lawrence
Edwards
,
S.J.
,
superior
of
Holy
Rosary
Mission
