Digmann

missionary

who
came
to
St
.
Francis
in
1886
. He
died
in
December
,
1931
,
just
two
days
before
Christmas
.
Members
of the
St
.
Joseph
Society
(for
men)
and the
St
.
Mary
Society
(for
women)
, the
two
strongest
societies
for
Catholic
Indians
,
voted
to have an
annual
Digmann
Day
, to
honor
their
beloved
missionary
. This
picture
was
taken
on
Sunday
,
October
3
,
1937
, in the
St
.
Francis
Mission
cemetery
.

Hartmann
,

,
is
directing
the
band
.
Fr

below
the

arm
of the
